NuaLight is committed to reducing the energy consumption of lighting systems on our environment.  Retail operations consume huge amounts of energy, resulting in high CO2 emissions – increasing the amount of Green House Gases (GHG’s) in the atmosphere and contributing to climate change.

60% of the energy utilised by retailers comes from lighting used in displaying products; accent lighting; display case lighting; overhead lighting etc. NuaLight’s products are for use in freezers and refrigeration display cabinets in supermarket retail. 

In this application by retrofitting NuaLight’s innovative CryoLED product range in place of traditional fluorescents, energy consumption can be reduced by up to 60%. In a standard 5 door freezer case this amounts to a saving of 1000kWhr per annum.

To put this into context:
1000kWhr = 850kg of CO2 = 1 tree

RoHS Compliance

All components used in the production of our lumininaires are certified RoHS compliant. All NuaLight products are fully RoHS compliant.

UV-free

LEDs do not emit UV. This is a particular feature to consider when installing lighting into refrigerated display cases where UV emitted from traditional fluorescent lighting degrades the food. Retrofitting with CryoLED will extend the shelf life of fresh and refrigerated foods reducing wastage through spoilage, and further reducing costs for the retailer.

WEEE

The WEEE Directive 2002/96/EC (Waste of Electrical, Electronic Equipment Directive) applies to ten catagories of electrical and electronic equipment, one of which is lighting. NuaLight are certified as having made the necessary provisions for waste management and are authorised by the WEEE Register to place electrical and electronic equipment on the market. .
