Joint Development with Tyndall Institute.
In February 2005 NuaLight signed a joint development agreement with the Tyndall National Institute. This Institute, incorporating the National Microelectronic Research Centre (NMRC), is one of the most significant centres for semiconductor and photonicsresearch in Europe. Tyndall and NuaLight have embarked upon a joint development project, using Tyndall’s deep technical knowledge, and NuaLight’s experience with industrial requirements and applications, to improve the coupling of light between LEDs and fibre, for illumination rather than communication applications. This work will lead to a new product family from NuaLight.
Licence with Tyndall Institute
NuaLight has signed a licence agreement with the Tyndall Institute, giving NuaLight exclusive rights for illumination applications, to technology which has been developed within the institute, and which has led to significant improvements in the state of the art in the coupling of light between LED light sources and fibre, fibre bundles and lightguides.
