Our Board
Peter joined Nualight in 2015 and served as the group CEO until 2021. He has now assumed the position of Executive Chairman of the Board. Peter has a Masters in Political Economy from Middlesex University and has over 30 years of experience working world wide in the lighting and manufacturing sectors, previously holding positions at Channel Safety Systems Group (Managing Director), Havells-Sylvania (Vice President), Concord Lighting (Vice-President) and Sylvania Lighting (Executive Vice President). Peter is a previous President of the Lighting Industry Federation and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce (RSA).
Per Langholz is a lighting industry veteran who has held a number of management positions globally, most recently that of Sylvania Lighting International where he led the company to turnover in excess of €400m and a successful exit to Havells India in 2007. Mr. Langholz left Havells Sylvania in August 2008 to pursue other interests in the lighting industry including various strategic advisory and Board positions. Prior to this role he was Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing from 1998 and Managing Director of the Central European Operations from 1997. Previously Mr. Langholz was Managing Director of GE Power Controls Germany and held various positions at AEG in Denmark, Germany and USA. Mr. Langholz will support the management team at Nualight with strategic planning as the company scales and expands its reach into new markets.
Eamonn Quinn, whose career began in investment banking, held a series of senior executive management roles in Superquinn, the Irish supermarket chain founded by his father, Senator Feargal Quinn. During this time he was instrumental in managing the growth of this fast-moving consumer business in a highly competitive market. Eamonn has held leading representative positions on many international food retail industry bodies including the Paris-based supermarket organisation C.I.E.S., where he chaired the marketing committee and the management development programme, and the USA based Operating Executives Council of the Food Marketing Institute. Since the sale of Superquinn Eamonn manages the Quinn Family investment portfolio, a number of private investments including ventures related to the global food retail sector.
Andrew Keating is the Finance and Business Partner responsible for the Strategy Innovation and Transformation department in ESB. He sits on the board of two of ESB NM investment companies, Nualight and Grid Beyond and three other ESB subsidiary companies. Andrew is a fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Ireland having trained with KPMG Dublin as part of the Consumer and Industrial team. Before joining ESB as a Senior Investment Analyst, Andrew spent 6 years at BDO Dublin as part of its Consulting division specialising in public infrastructure projects. He holds a BA in Business and Economics from Trinity College and a Professional Diploma in Accounting from Dublin City University.
Simon Drury is a Partner in Adaxia Capital Partners. Prior to this, Simon was a Director and then Founding Partner of Charterhouse Capital Partners a highly successful European private equity firm. During his sixteen years at Charterhouse Simon was involved in all forms of investment from venture to expansion capital and from small MBOs to large LBOs. Prior to that Simon worked as a Senior Engineer with Air Products Inc the US gases group. Simon has a BSc in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from Cranfield.
Dr. Liam Kelly founded Nualight in 2004. His previous commercial LED activities include the establishment of CorkOpt Ltd. in 1994, to develop and manufacture LED-based luminaires for the machine vision industry. CorkOpt was acquired by USA-based StockerYale Inc. in 2000 and Liam continued as Managing Director until 2003. He was also a founder-director of Millimetre Wave Technology Ltd., and of Farran Technology Ltd, an imaging and communications systems manufacturer, until its acquisition by the Smiths Group plc in 2005. Prior to his commercial interests, Liam spent twenty years in various senior roles in University College Cork including Associate Professor of Microelectronics. He has a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California, is a founding director of Optronics-Ireland, and is a founding director of the Irish National Microelectronic Research Centre.
Andrew joined Nualight in 2008 as a lighting applications specialist and subsequently held Sales, Engineering and Operational roles, most recently he served as Chief Operating Officer. Andrew has been instrumental in the technical development and launch of Nualight’s world-class LED Refrigeration Lighting product portfolio and overall operational efficiency of the business. His expertise in understanding the needs of the customer in this highly demanding market segment has led to significant growth in Nualight’s customer base in leading grocery chains and OEMs across four continents. Andrew has an MSc in Experimental Physics/Lasers and has over 16 years of experience in the LED industry.
